We are partnering with Abbott Donegal, a leading company in the medical device industry dedicated to improving lives globally. Join their team in Donegal Town, where we manufacture cutting-edge diabetes management products, including blood glucose test strips and sensors. As part of their dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our facilities and utilities meet the highest standards, contributing to the health and well-being of people worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

As a Facilities Engineer, you will:

  1. Collaborate with Architects and Engineers: Work closely with architects, M&E designers, and engineers on building services projects.
  2. Support Design Teams: Assist in the development of site-specific facility and utility equipment and processes.
  3. Manage Contractors: Commission, organise, and evaluate contractor work to ensure quality and compliance.
  4. Oversee Installations: Supervise the installation of building systems and develop maintenance and operating procedures.
  5. Lifecycle Management: Make informed decisions about existing systems and the placement of new equipment.
  6. Ensure Compliance: Ensure all building systems comply with legislative and health and safety standards.
  7. Validation and Reporting: Generate and execute validation protocols, conduct trials, and produce reports for facilities and utilities.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement cost improvement and innovative opportunities for facility operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Experience: 3+ years of related work experience.
  2. Education: Certificate/Craft Certificate/Third Level Qualification in Engineering, Automation, Mechanical, or Electrical fields.
