Production Supervisor

We are currently supporting a leading, global Medical Device company as they hire an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team. This successful applicant will work on day shift and support a fast paces and advanced production unit. 


As the new Production Supervisor, you will develop and maintain a feasible plan for hiring, training, and managing personnel and ensuring quality issues, processes, and material flows are operated efficiently. Through your management style, you will actively demonstrate and propagate the core values of the business including promotion of continuous improvement, development of your team, and adherence to our quality systems. 



This role will involve the Production Supervisor integrating critical goals with support and collaboration of other functions across the production unit including Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and R&D.

 Key activities:

 

  • Planning - including developing /maintaining a viable plan incorporating hiring, training, capacity-modeling, efficiency/yield assumptions, ramp-rate, learning curve, etc.
  • Liaising with ware-housing, quality assurance, bulk-packaging, and sterilization areas to ensure product shipment.
  • Maintaining GMP / Housekeeping at a high level within the department through the involvement of all team members.
  • Cross-functional management of QA, materials, IS, and HR support for the team.
  • Interacting and liaising with the other manufacturing teams and Logistics to prioritize backorders.
  • Managing process and material flows, space management, and working with the Engineering group to maximize space designated for specific operations areas.
  • Administration of Time and Attendance system, Holiday planning, Build Plan review Back Order review, travel planning, etc.
  • Working with EHS to identify significant environmental impacts of BSIL operations and establish goals and targets around substantial ecological impacts.
  • Displaying expert knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, health and safety.
  • Exhibiting interpersonal and communication skills and liaising with various support groups.
  • Delivering solid people management practices, including motivation, organization, and team building.

Experience and Education:

 

  • Level 8 Degree (240 Credits) or equivalent in relevant discipline preferred with Level 7 Degree and experience in a similar role a minimum requirement.
  • Minimum 5-years of industry experience.
  • Previous supervisor experience within the Medical Device industry or another highly regulated production environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
