Production Supervisor

Role / Responsibilities:


1.      Gets work done through others

a.      Sets daily targets for teams under their supervision

b.      Assigns work to team fairly, consistent with achieving targets

c.      Follows up on individual and team under-performance issues

d.      Motivates team towards continuous improvement

e.      Seeks out ways to improve processes, along with other stakeholders

f.       Leads by example

g.      Co-ordinates the various team activities in the most effective manner

h.      Liaises with other supervisors and management on most effective use of resources – people and equipment

 

2.      Controls cost

a.      Responsible for minimising cost of their processes

b.      Looks for ways to improve processes – makes suggestions to manager if not within supervisor’s control

 

3.      Controls quality

a.      Responsible for maximising yield of their process(es), reducing waste

b.      Responsible for conformance to product specs

c.      Works to uphold and maintain HACCP controls

 

4.      Flexible

a.      Supervises other processes on a routine basis, as part of team of supervisors

b.      Willing to try new approaches to process improvement

 

5.      Maintains Health and Safety standards

a.      Identifies unsafe practices, reports any concerns to manager, and work to eliminate risks

b.      Follows up on root cause of accidents

 

Requirements:

Experience in Food Production environment desirable
