PRODUCTION PLANNER
SLIGO
An exciting opportunity has come up with a leading global manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Production Planner for their facility in Sligo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a production or supply chain professional to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, playing a key role in balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity and operational requirements.
The Role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner will manage the end-to-end production planning and scheduling process, ensuring schedules are achievable, efficient and aligned with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
Balancing customer demand with capacity, materials and resources.
Monitoring production performance, schedule adherence and production losses.
Supporting DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) performance.
Proactively managing material shortages, labour constraints, downtime and operational disruptions.
Coordinating raw material and shipment requirements to optimise inventory and Just-In-Time material flow.
Working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Engineering and Customer Service.
Supporting new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintaining accurate planning records, reports and documentation.
Acting as a key contact for production planning and scheduling across the site.
The Ideal Candidate:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
3–5 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Technical Skills
Ideally, you will have experience with:
ERP/SAP systems
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Project
Power BI
Production planning and scheduling systems
