A unique opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Production Lead to join a leading US organisation in their new start-up Manufacturing and Operations Centre in the Limerick region. This organisation is a leading supplier of contract formulation and manufacturing services to the life science industry. This person will have strong leadership skills and have experience in a GMP/FDA regulated environment.
Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):
Manage a team of Production Operators to ensure quality, quantity, and to meet the production schedule.
Administrative duties of Shift Management, to include maintenance, etc.
Provide technical support and assistance to chemists and engineers.
Maintain and clean instruments and equipment as needed.
Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates, and products.
Ensure that hazardous waste is handled in a manner consistent with all applicable governmental regulations.
Direct or monitor other workers producing chemical products.
Operate experimental pilot operations, assisting with experimental design.
Assist with new chemical engineering processes or production techniques.
Apply operational excellence and continuous improvement techniques and methodologies to process to include lean techniques such as 5S, OEE, and Process Mapping to impact and improve process effectiveness and efficiencies.
Operate and Manage the company OEE program to enable measurement of process uptime and identify areas of focus for process improvement.
Accurately document with batch record following GDP, graphs. and charts to record results.
What the ideal candidate looks like:
3rd level qualifications preferred in Science or Engineering.
8 years + production supervisory experience in Med Tech or Pharma.
Experience in GMP/FDA regulated process.
Experience in a start-up in the med-tech/pharma/biotech sector would be an advantage.
Technical/Mechanical aptitude; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
