Procurement Manager - Midlands

My client, a well-established and developing company in the food industry based in the Midlands, is looking to hire an experienced Procurement Manager to join their organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a similar role and will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Source materials and services in line with Company Objectives, that will guarantee supply, quality, and value, while working within the capacity of the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and maintain pricing projections, to feed accurate forward financial forecasts.
  • Develop strategies for simplification and cost savings.
  • Develop Procurement Portfolio, to include Products, Suppliers, and Supplier accreditations.
  • Create and implement a procurement strategy for the business
  • Interface with the Supply Chain Manager, on Raw Material demands, and supplier management issues. Avoid raw materials availability issues.
  • Develop ERP system to Determine Long Term Raw Material Demand. 
  • Support the NPD and Costing Process, for Inputs into Commercial Tenders.
  • Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a similar role
  • Relevant Third Level Qualification in Business, Purchasing Management, Supply Chain or Operations or related field experience
  • Strong Procurement and supplier management experience, preferably within the food industry
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • IT proficiency – good knowledge of Microsoft in particular Excel and Outlook
