Our client, a global healthcare leader is keen to hire a Process Project Engineer to join their team in Cavan on an initial 12month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Process Project Engineer, you will be required to:
- Manage and execute assigned projects within the Process Department, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Design, install, commission, and validate new equipment while improving existing process units and systems.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with Abbott’s safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, HR, etc.) to ensure smooth project implementation and alignment with operational goals.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, project schedules, budgets, and validation documentation.
- Identify and implement cost improvement projects (CIPs) to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide regular project updates to the Process Project Manager, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mechanical and electrical systems, offering expert guidance to the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- At least 3 years of engineering experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or food/dairy manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience with process engineering, equipment installation, and project management.
- Strong understanding of automation systems (PLC, SCADA) and design software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Project).
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, FMEA, RCA) and excellent problem-solving skills.
