An exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join our client, a leading medical device company based in AnnacottyLimerick on a permanent contract. As a member of the OEM Engineering group, this role will provide engineering solutions that improve reliability of processes and reduces cost of manufacturing.

Role Responsibilities: (Job divided into three specific categories.)

New Project Introduction

Involved in the later stages of new product introduction covering the following headings:

  • New process development.

  • Process validations.

  • New machine installation and qualification.

  • Production systems and layout designs

Process Improvement

This will involve major process improvements, which will be driven by cost savings and on time delivery improvements. This may include:

  • Upgrade of current, and the development of new equipment and processes including tooling, jigs and fixtures.

  • Validation and development of manufacturing processes including materials and processing technology.

  • Source and manage vendors for the supply of new equipment and processes.

  • Undertake projects aimed at reducing waste, reducing costs, improving efficiency and overall company performance.

  • Establish and maintain programmes to ensure compliance with relevant standards, ISO 13485, F.D.A, G.M.P. for medical devices, and environmental health and safety.

Manufacturing Support

Required to support manufacturing in the following issues:

  • Major customer complaints.

  • Critical failures: line down situations.

  • Validations.

  • Mistake proofing processes.

  • Introducing and embedding long term solutions to process issues. 

Role Requirements:

  • Third level relevant Degree.

  • 5+ years’ technical experience in a similar environment.

  • Basic Project management skills.

  • Understanding of Lean Principles
