Our client is a leading player in the timber-frame manufacturing industry, supplying the UK and Irish markets with high-quality products for the construction, pallet wood, and fencing sectors. As part of their continued growth and investment in their timber-frame business, they are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Manager to oversee their operations in Longford.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and prioritise a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Work closely with the SHEQ Manager to ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage the Longford production plan to optimise returns and align with business goals.
  • Monitor production performance against budget and drive improvements through KPIs.
  • Lead and implement short/medium-term projects to drive efficiency across the Timber-frame business.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the site.
  • Collaborate with Design and Site Quality teams to ensure the smooth execution of the production plan.
  • Build strong relationships with Shift Managers and Supervisors to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Contribute to the capital investment strategy and oversee the implementation of capital projects.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and employee development to build a high-performing, engaged team.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant or Site Management, ideally in Timber-frame or Modular Building, Off-site Manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment with regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to reduce complexity and increase operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, with passion, energy, and a strong work ethic.
  • Proven track record of driving performance and exceeding operational goals.
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to delegate responsibility effectively.
  • Strong people management skills with a focus on talent development and employee engagement.
  • A mindset of continuous improvement, open to change, and comfortable with risk and uncertainty.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
