Planning Manager

The Job:

Based with a Medical Devices organisation in Longford who have experienced considerable growth over the past couple of years, the Planning Manager will oversee the Supply Chain Function of the business including Planning, Procurement and Logistics.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and directly managing 3 staff members, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to join a growing organisation at a time of strong growth and would like to be in a position to implement positive change.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production planning team and management activities. 
  • Work within the team to ensure the smooth running of the production facilities to meet the daily plan requirements in line with agreed specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to plan and escalation of information to customers related to orders
  • Build and optimize the production planning process with the planning team
  • Develop production plan, budget and timelines according to production specifications.
  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
  • Plan workflow and schedules for production 
  • Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Determine equipment, materials and manpower required to complete production.
  • Monitor production status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify delays and accordingly adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements.
  • Hold daily meetings to keep track of production schedules

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
  • 5 or more years previous experience in a similar role, in a fast-moving manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to lead and motivate the team and drive efficiencies
  • Ability to monitor production output and make changes accordingly. KPI focused.
  • Strong problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Significant cross-functional leadership capabilities - ability to lead, collaborate and influence without authority; uses informal structure, dynamics, and culture to get things done
