Our client, a globally recognised, award-winning financial institution based in Limerick is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a 6 month temporary contract.
Reporting into the International payroll Manager, this role will be part of the wider EMEA Payroll team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payrolls across EMEA locations, oversight and second reviews of payrolls, along with process improvements. The EMEA Payroll team collaborate with various departments across the business such as the HR Service Centre, Finance, Benefits, Compensation and Exec Compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily payroll activities to ensure production of assigned payrolls including complex and year-end activities.
- Review adjustment requests to ensure compliance with corporate policies, employment tax & payroll laws.
- Record monthly payroll metrics
- Respond to employee queries to explain pay and impact of policies, tax law and related changes.
- Analyze existing policies & procedures to ensure compliance with tax & payroll-related laws and regulations.
- Work with vendors and review payroll applications to ensure changes are correctly reflected on the payroll.
- Prepare payroll tax and general ledger accounts/activities; liaise with finance to reconcile discrepancies.
- Performs vendor management activities to ensure adherence to corporate vendor management standards.
- Review team members work; including but not limited to review of payroll input and manual calculations.
- Acquire knowledge of other team members’ payroll activities and perform back up support.
- Represent the department in various meetings.
Skills/ Qualifications:
- Several years of payroll experience, EMEA payroll experience is desirable
- Experience with payroll processing including; outsourced payroll production, reconciliation, General Ledger
- Experience with Workday is an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
- Knowledge of other areas of Human Resources & Finance, and their impact on payroll production activities
- IPASS qualification is desirable
