  • Reporting to the site General Manager & Director and an integral part of the Site Management team and a senior position within the organisation.
  • Management and strategic development of all supply chain and production processes
  • Management of the Planning team functions for customer requirements, inventory control and on time delivery.
  • Manage and develop the S&OP process for site and for subcontract product line deliveries ensuring resources are aligned with demand.
  • Continual improvement and development of company supplier base ensuring quality, delivery and cost solutions with make / buy decision inputs, providing a world class service to the company and its customer base through the purchasing team.
  • On time delivery to customers promise dates, focus on lead time and cost.
  • Timely delivery of Production work orders.
  • Cost reduction initiatives in line with customer requirements and through Lean processes.
  • Customer service response times and best practice in order management.
  • Production team weekly output and Work order on time delivery for products and repairs.
  • Manage warehouse and material processing functions for best in class material management and logistics provision.
  • Performance Management and performance reviews for the reporting team.
  • Supporting the Lean initiatives at the site and promoting Lean within the areas of responsibility
  • Contributor to the Strategy development at site Management level and within the Operations functions.
  • Develop a budget for the operations element of the business in conjunction with Finance and manage costs within that budget for the Financial year.
  • Lead the development of the resources and process to ensure a high standard of delivery, Quality and cost control at the Cork site.
  • Developing relationships with customers and other company entities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring market conditions to improve purchasing effectiveness
  • Efficient Material analysis process to facilitate order confirmations.
  • Reduction in inventory, Increase efficiency, reduce production costs.
  • Lead the sourcing of new parts through the development process
  • Ensure an adequate portfolio of vendors to cover the requirements of the company
  • Supplier approval process, make/buy decisions, supplier risk mitigation.
  • Supplier’s performance metrics and improvement plans.
  • Effective planning and output from the repairs section of operations.
  • Operational KPI’s as agreed with local management and Industrial group Leadership.
  • Build on the relationships with sister sites for efficient supply chain benefits.
  • Development of the staff and identifying new requirements, succession planning and / training.
  • Clear communication to all stakeholders of goals and objectives for the site.
  • People performance management and appraisal system.


Role Requirements:

  • A good relevant Degree in Engineering, Science or Business.
  • Qualified experienced Production /Operations Management degree.
  • Qualification and membership of Irish Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management plus a qualification in APICS would be an advantage
  • Experience in management of Contract Electronics Manufacturing supply base.
  • Be an excellent communicator at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Possess strong analytical abilities to co-ordinate and manage complex issues in the Procurement process
  • Be able to travel to US, Europe & Asia is a requirement of this role, circa 20%
  • Excellent negotiation skills are vital.
  • Fluency in German, Italian or Chinese would be an advantage, but not essential
