Operational Excellence Manager

A unique leadership opportunity has arisen as we seek an Operational Excellence Manager for a manufacturing site in Donegal. The new Operational Excellence Manager will play a pivotal role in the advancement of Operational Excellence principles and practices, achieving sustainable results and fostering collaboration both internally and externally at the site. Key areas of responsibility and further details on the role & requirements are outlined below:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy aligned with company and divisional goals.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a multiyear roadmap for operational excellence.

  • Engage stakeholders across all levels to build awareness, understanding, and support for change initiatives.

Operational Excellence Program Management:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of the operational excellence program.

  • Deploy standardised methodologies (e.g., Shingo, Lean Six Sigma, OPEX, Lean Manufacturing) for process improvement.

  • Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of initiatives.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement in process improvement.

Education and Years Experience:

  • Degree in Business, operations management, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role/environment.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification or strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Champion engaged high-performing teams through Mindful Leader principles.


  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing operational excellence initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, influencing and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.

  • Reports to the Operations Manager, leading the operational excellence team
