We are working in partnership with a leading manufacturer in Dublin 10. We currently have a new opening for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer based in their new manufacturing site in Dublin.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will provide hands-on engineering support working on breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance on various machines, you will work as part of a team to develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance strategies along with the installation of all-new machinery. You will also work closely with Production, Quality & H&S to ensure that plant priorities are met.
Responsibilities:
- Work to a maintenance schedule
- To be hands-on and work to resolve machine breakdowns
- Provide feedback on issues through the electronic management system.
- Adopting a proactive approach to reducing the impact and frequency of faults on process machinery.
- Liaising with manufacturing colleagues to identify windows of opportunity for carrying out the project and engineering-related work
- Ensure that systems are in place to resolve any engineering product or system issues in a manner that will limit the impact on production, quality, environment, and health & safety performance.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of engineering products and systems to ensure that all performances are optimised.
- Ensure system and product quality through the design of test methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Identify areas of best practice within and external to our organisation and apply to own area of responsibility.
- Attend meetings on behalf of Engineering and take a proactive role in the meetings from an engineering perspective.
- Generate meaningful KPIs that demonstrate the improvements realised in your own area of responsibility and that of the technician team.
- Support site management in ensuring that site systems and procedures are operated across the site fully in accordance with company health & safety policy, quality, and environmental requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous hands-on engineering experience with the ability to diagnose mechanical engineering related problems.
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Good organisational, planning and time management skills with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in an autonomous manner.
- Ability to use clear judgment and make methodical decisions in ambiguous and pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good knowledge of site manufacturing equipment
