A leading food manufacturing company in Longford is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support production line maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and drive process improvements. This role requires a hands-on problem solver who can work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Line Support: Monitor and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute and track PM schedules (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Downtime Analysis: Identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Equipment Repairs: Work with high-speed machines, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulics.
Process & Project Improvements: Contribute to engineering upgrades and efficiency enhancements.
Health & Safety Compliance: Champion safety protocols and participate in audits.
Requirements:
3+ years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in food or packaging manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and machining.
PLC experience (Siemens S7) is an advantage.
Proficiency in computerized engineering systems and maintenance management software (e.g., Pemac).
Third-level Engineering qualification is desirable.
Willingness to work a 24/7 shift cycle (including nights and weekends).
