Management Accountant

The Job:

My client, a well established manufacturing company, based in County Louth is looking to hire a Management Accountant to join their existing team of 4 people in Finance and 75 site wide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate financial information, analyzing financial data, and assisting in decision-making processes that will positively impact the company's performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze production costs, and recommend efficiency improvements.

  • Assist in the implementation of a new Finance system.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure budget adherence and provide variance analysis.

  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze variances, and work with the operations team to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.

  • Analyze product and project profitability, evaluate pricing strategies, and provide recommendations for improving profitability.

  • Investigate and explain budget variances, highlighting key drivers and suggesting corrective actions.

  • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and data-driven recommendations.

  • Continuously identify areas for process improvement within the finance department and work with the team to implement efficiency-enhancing measures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, in particularly SAP, with a strong knowledge of Excel and other data analysis tools.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
