Management Accountant

The Job:

We are working alongside a leading manufacturer based in Cavan to hire a Management Accountant. This is a new role within the organization, aimed at supporting the Financial Controller and Director of Finance. This position is crucial for enhancing financial planning, decision-making, and control processes, thereby increasing the financial acumen across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cost and material cost analysis, understanding cost drivers, allocation methods, and control techniques to optimize financial effectiveness.

  • Manage, monitor, and report on costs.

  • Accurately record financial transactions and ensure their integrity to understand and drive business performance, financial position, and cash flows.

  • Participate in business transformation and control projects that impact the company’s profitability and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with various departments within our multicultural team.

  • Create management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide a comprehensive overview of the company’s financial performance.

  • Match transactions (e.g., monthly sales and margin, balance sheets) internally against external statements and documents to ensure accuracy and confidence in our financial reporting.

  • Perform and participate in third-party audits to ensure highly accurate data and compliance with regulations, providing assurance to all stakeholders.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative insights to forecast company performance.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and scrutinizing business strategies and financial decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA, or Chartered Accountant.

  • Preferably 2 years of post-qualification experience.

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred, though a strong interest in the industry is also valued.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Excel.
