Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the execution of the preventative maintenance routines & repair of all production equipment
  • Tool Making is essential
  • Troubleshoot equipment related process problems & equipment failures to determine root cause hence instigate repair using the latest lean tools & techniques
  • Carry out trouble-shooting of electrical/instrument and control and mechanical problems
  • Assist in the maintenance of the plant utility equipment support the production process (including building, environment & facilities) as requested e. purified water systems, AHU’s etc.
  • Execute and update as appropriate the existing preventative maintenance program, in order to minimize downtime and optimize plant Site uses Infor DataStream at present
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance documentation exists for each equipment item & that it is filed in an organized & legible manner
  • Develop critical spares list for the equipment & ensure that critical spares are in stock or are readily available at all Ensure that an effective program is then maintained
  • Ensure that all critical instruments are set up for routine calibrations on-site system and that these calibrations are performed on or before the due date
  • Ensure strict compliance of GMP and SOP procedures during the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic plant and systems associated with producing the finished product
  • Assist liaise with and/or organize contractors carrying out maintenance/ calibration/ certification work as required
  • Investigate EHS incidents, lead RCAs and complete EHS actions as appropriate
  • Provide input into, and assist in the completion of, PEX (Process Excellence) projects so as to improve automation, reduce lead-time and reduce EHS risks in the department
  • Reads & interprets hydraulic, electrical & mechanical drawings where appropriate
  • Support Process Engineering in the preparation of inputs into capital & expense budgets related to the Membrane and or CPG Manufacturing Operations
  • Provide input into and actively participate in the production team so as to ensure that the team is effective in carrying out all tasks relating to Membrane andor CPG
  • Perform all tasks with due recognition of safety, environment, GMP & plant procedures
  • Provide maintenance support, entering data, updating equipment records, produce performance reports and participate in continuous improvement follow up
  • Support production teams in attaining all targets set out in the schedule
  • Placement of PO’ s for equipment and spares is within the job role as is other administration work required to carry out your functional work

 

Role Requirements:

  • Candidate must have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeshiptime served
  • Preferred candidate to have basic electrical experience within a production environment
  • Preferred candidate to have calibration instrumentation experience
  • Advantageous to have a recognised electrical qualification as well
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a Manufacturing Environment within the Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Preferable experience with CMMS Infor PM System;
  • Preferable experience with a Calibration System
  • Previous experience within an ATEX environment an advantage
  • Be familiar with planned preventative maintenance approaches
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and health, Environment and safety
