Maintenance Technician

A global leader in the medical device industry is seeking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team in Boyle, Co Roscommon. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital in role in supporting the Manufacturing and Technical Departments.

Responsibilities: (Full job description available on request):

  • Develop, install, and maintain planned maintenance and calibration schedules, adhering to quality system requirements.

  • Ensure availability and safety of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and equipment to support production schedules and technical development.

  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, adhering to safety standards and ensuring facility maintenance.

  • Provide rapid troubleshooting and breakdown support to manufacturing and technical teams.

  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors for tooling, equipment, and maintenance services.

  • Install and commission new equipment, documenting introductions, and changes as per quality system standards.

Ideal background:

  • Craft apprenticeship in Toolmaking with at least 3 years of practical maintenance experience.

  • PLC Logic programming and wiring experience is beneficial.

  • Problem-solving skills and practical experience in medical device/pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Good knowledge of quality systems related to maintenance and calibration.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • Practical and logical troubleshooting abilities to resolve process and equipment issues.
