Our client is recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their team in Sligo on a permanent contract to help keep their equipment and facilities running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair machinery, plant equipment, and building systems to keep production running smoothly.
- Carry out regular preventative maintenance and record all work in the company’s maintenance system (eMaint).
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, perform repairs, and help get equipment back up and running.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or utilities.
- Work with external contractors and equipment suppliers, managing their work safely on site.
- Partner with Operations and Quality teams to identify and resolve equipment or process issues.
- Investigate recurring equipment issues to find and fix the root cause.
- Assist with internal audits and reviews of equipment performance.
- Manage spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Take part in projects to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Suggest and support process improvements to help increase efficiency (OEE).
- Provide training to other staff when required.
- Be available for on-call emergency support and future shift work.
Requirements:
- A technical or trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience working with systems such as HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, or building services.
- At least 3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated environment (pharma, medical devices, or similar).
- Experience maintaining production equipment, utilities, and facilities systems.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) — experience with eMaint is an advantage.
