We are partnering with Masonite in Carrick on Shannon to recruit for a Maintenance Technician to join their team,.

The Carrick-on-Shannon plant specialises in transforming wood waste and residue into high-quality moulded door skins. These door skins are essential components for Masonite's door fabrication plants and are distributed to independent manufacturers throughout Europe and the Middle East. Known for its innovative manufacturing processes, Masonite Ireland places a strong emphasis on sustainability by efficiently using wood waste materials.


2 cycle shift pattern – 22% shift in addition to base salary.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Production Oversight: Manage the production area from raw material intake to final product output, ensuring smooth operations and quick resolution of any issues.
  2. Stakeholder Communication: Actively participate in Tier board meetings, communicate relevant shift matters, and ensure follow-up on action items.
  3. Performance Metrics: Support the team leader in achieving key performance indicators, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments and internal customers to ensure seamless operations.
  5. Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality to ensure it meets established standards and specifications.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimise downtime.
  8. Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior technicians and new hires on best practices and standard operating procedures.


  1. Educational Background: Minimum Level 6 (Advanced Certificate or Higher Certificate NFQ) in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
  2. Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to solve mechanical problems effectively.
  3. Lean Manufacturing Expertise: Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and 5S+1 methodology.
  4. Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Process Technician.
  5. Kaizen Leadership: Capability to lead and facilitate Kaizen events.
