An exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading US-based Polymer and Biomaterial technology company newly based in Newcastle West, Limerick on a permanent contract. This opportunity is with one of Ireland's most exciting and newest start-ups.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will offer technical support to ensure that preventative maintenance is carried out on all equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability as well as, troubleshooting when issues occur. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will work closely with colleagues in the Operations and Engineering divisions to ensure equipment is performing to its optimum ability.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and troubleshooting Electro/Mechanical equipment failures.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance procedures.
  • Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Support Engineering projects and lead actions assigned to maintenance group.
  • To provide first-line breakdown/defect repairs and or support to shift supervisors.
  • To closely monitor the safe running of the plant and report to the supervisor or manager any engineering concerns.
  • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices are followed.
  • To prepare and coordinate the inspection, and effect repairs if required, to all statutory and non-statutory testing actions required to plant and equipment.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years Experience in a similar technical role within the Medical Device or similar industry with an established track record.
  • Candidates with a Completed Level 6 QQI or equivalent, or Level 7/Level 8 of engineering disciplines in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, motor drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
