Logistics and Planning Specialist | Start-Up

Standout opportunity for a Logistics and Planning Specialist to join a clean technology/sustainability start-up in Tipperary. This new full-time permanent role will be responsible for the end-to-end consumables planning/PO placement and fulfilment process as well as developing routes and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.  The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics route development, supplier planning and trade compliance. Permanent role, Monday to Friday with great potential to progress in a young, fast-growing clean tech company.

What would your day-to-day will look like as a Logistics and Planning Specialist:

  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to streamline transportation processes.
  • Monitor and analyse logistics performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with the Head of Supply Chain to develop routes in line with Global expansion plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all international trade laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for customs clearance and international shipping.
  • Conduct regular audits of trade compliance processes and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and advise on updating company policies accordingly.
  • Identify potential risks in logistics and trade compliance and develop mitigation strategies with the Team.
  • Control and resolve any logistics-related issues or disruptions promptly.
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the Consumables category, forecasting requirements to delivery.
  • Work closely with suppliers highlighting were pricing needs alignment. 
  • Co-ordinate Customer deliveries with the Customer Service Team and ensure transparent servicing of the accounts and manage to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

What does the ideal candidate look like:

  • 3+ years of experience in logistics and trade compliance with some supplier planning knowledge.
  • Proven experience with international shipping and customs regulations.
  • Microsoft 365 software, proficient in Excel.
  • 3rd level qualification desirable but not essential
  • Relevant certifications in logistics and trade compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified International Trade Professional (CITP)) are preferred but not essential.
