Logistics & Contracts Co Ordinator

Our client, based in Ennis, Co. Clare, is looking for a Logistics and Contracts Co-ordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. The Logistics and Contracts Co-Ordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the logistical and inventory functions pertaining to installations, commissioning and handovers in association with the administration of contract documentation. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with other departments to optimise efficiency and customer satisfaction

Key responsibilities: (Full Job Spec available on request)

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments with overseas/local suppliers and deliveries to Site/Engineer Depots.
  • Oversee the transportation of goods with freight companies and tracking aboard deliveries to ensure delivery times are met in line with allocated budgets
  • Negotiate the most competitive rates with carriers.
  • Ensure economies of scale at all times to include for bulk shipments where feasible and possible. 
  • Liaise with Customers to ensure delivery dates and times are in line with site readiness
  • Raise PO’s and prepare/maintain accurate documentation and records related to logistical activities in association with the company’s operational system/s.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to logistics, such as delivery delays, damaged goods or missing parts.
  • Liaise with Engineers regarding the offloading of equipment, local supply consumable requirements, reporting of missing and damaged parts, collection of damaged parts from site and delivery of replacement parts back to site
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
  • Co-ordination of goods in and goods out for damaged and missing parts to and from Head Office.
  • Raise, track and manage financial claims with all Suppliers via the respective B2B platforms and provide monthly financial update reports.

Key requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years working in a busy purchasing / logistics / inventory focussed role ideally in the Construction Industry but not a necessity
  • Third level qualification
  • Strong knowledge of database systems/detailed administration and ability to navigate and interpret data.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service focus both internally and externally
