Key Account Manager - Galway Based
Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Key Account Manager to managing and grow an established customer base, while also identifying and converting new business opportunities across the region.

The role will involve building strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and providing practical product and supply solutions across industrial, manufacturing, engineering, pharma, and medical device sectors.
The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for key accounts, working closely with customers to understand their requirements, increase account spend, support customer retention, and deliver a high level of service. This role reports directly to the Company Directors.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, managing relationships at a senior level.
  • Develop account plans to maximise revenue and retention within the existing customer base.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the industrial and medical device sectors in the assigned areas.
  • Conduct site visits, presentations, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to key accounts.
  • Ensure continuous quality and communications with clients.
  • Achieve defined sales targets within specified time frames.
  • Present the company in a professional manner through quality presentations, consistent quality of service, and exceptional after-sales service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, and market trends.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions as required.
  • Report on sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline developments to the Company Directors.
 
Requirements
  • 3+ years previous sales experience essential, preferably in the industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or medical device sectors.
  • Proven ability to build long-term commercial relationships with purchasing, engineering, production, maintenance, and management teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and provide practical product, supply chain, PPE, tooling, and consumables solutions.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and target driven.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and communicate complex product offerings.
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Previous experience selling PPE, industrial equipment, machinery, tools, or consumables.
