We are currently recruiting for the 2 following positions for our client; two IT Systems Administrator joining a new team in the Waterford area. Please see job specifications for the roles below. Job Title 1: IT Systems Administrator, two positions available. 

Role Responsibilities:

  1.  Perform on-site and remote technical support for all UK and Ireland businesses.  Provide users with an appropriate level of support and advice
  2.  Adhere to KPI’s and SLA’s
  3.  Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
  4.  Perform daily system monitoring utilising tools made available
  5.  Verify the integrity and availability of all hardware
  6.  Direct responsibility of the servers:
  7.  Build, configuration and implementation.
  8.  Ensure error-free and efficient implementation and functioning of the servers.
  9.  Patch servers with Microsoft WSUS Critical Updates
  10.  Ensure all systems are updated with the latest Ani-Virus definition files
  11.  Administer, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP
  12.  Direct responsibility of the local network:
  13.  Participating in the definition of infrastructure design.
  14.  Ensure error-free and efficient implementation and functioning of the systems.
  15.  Ensure adequate support is accessible to the users of the services.
  16.  Configuration of LAN switches, firewall and proxy servers.
  17.  Coordinate WAN connectivity with vendors.
  18.  Ensure all necessary technical support is provided to all internal users and maintain users’ satisfaction in the specific fields of responsibilities.
  19.  Perform daily backup operations (where applicable)
  20.  Ensure integrity of backup media and media is hosted off-site
  21.  Perform regular test restores and DR testing
  22.  The systems under responsibility are:
  23.  Workstation and laptops.
  24.  Files and backup servers. (Physical and Virtual)
  25.  Switches, firewalls and routers.

Role Requirements:

  1.  BSc in Computer Science or Information Technology, ITIL certified, Microsoft certification, Cisco certification, Experience with  NetApp and VMWare
  2.  GXP experience essential for this role
  3.  Experience in validation and support of pharmaceutical laboratory instrumentation and systems
  4.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, supporting a large organisation in a 2nd / 3rd line role
  5.  Minimum 5 years of industry experience required
