Industrial IT Support Engineer

Our client is a leading food manufacturing facility based in Macroom, Co. Cork. We are on the lookout to hire an IT support Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an on-site role and would suit someone with experience in general IT support and some experience working within a GMP environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary IT support contact for various industrial functions, including Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Quality, and Engineering. Responsibilities encompass issue resolution, driving improvements, and enhancing support across all IT-related areas: application support, infrastructure support, and service delivery.

  • Provide support for MES applications, encompassing Siemens, Oracle, Wonderware, SAP, OPC, and SQL.

  • Assist in the support, development, and enhancement of Infrared Cameras, Access Control, CCTV, and Security systems.

  • Actively participate in new projects, project enhancements, and application upgrades for MES applications in collaboration with 3rd parties and local teams.

  • Ensure the security and up-to-date status of Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Firewalls, Wifi, LAN, WAN, and other hardware, including CISCO, Siemens, PLC’s, VPN.

  • Drive continuous improvement across all industrial responsibilities, focusing on enhancing systems, automation, work processes, and productivity.

  • Provide support for hardware, including Zebra Android devices, Scanners, Laser printers, Label printers, touchscreens, and networking.

Key Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of practical experience in computer troubleshooting or a comparable technical domain.

  • Previous Industrial IT experience within a GMP manufacturing setting is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with computer hardware, software, operations, and resolving common technical issues.

  • Proficient in Office 365 for various tasks and responsibilities.

  • Exhibit proficient numerical skills, enabling the recording, interpretation, and analysis of critical process data.

  • Display a keen appetite for challenges and a proven ability to adapt to change in a dynamic 24/7 FMCG environment. This includes experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, and high-tech manufacturing setting, showcasing demonstrable and transferable skills.
