Human Resource Manager required to assist the HR team manage the day to day and future planning of a leading Medical Company headquartered in Galway.

The HR Manager will report to the Senior Director for HR for Europe, supporting the HR teams in each country and working closely with broader team stakeholders, managing 4/5 team members.

Responsibilities:

HR Dept / Workforce Planning

  • Work with Operations & Functional Support leaders, to forecast talent requirements for a period of 90-180 days.
  • Manage workforce planning - Forecasts and adapt changes in workforce headcount and skill requirements.
  • Establish clear HR expectations and accountabilities linked to the overall site objectives.

 

Operation day to day planning

  •  Promote a culture of wellbeing, Health & Safety, and professional employee services within Merit Europe.
  • Demonstrates a big picture understanding of a manufacturing business, its interrelations, and priorities.
  • Interacts with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  •  Attend management meetings and make recommendations for organisational changes and updates.
  •  Ensure the HR function is up to date on all recent and current legislation.

 

Data Analytics

  • Knowledge of technologies, techniques, and practices for evaluation of business performance data.
  • Analyse key HR / Business metrics to identify trends and develop a strategic response to deliver a best in class HR service.
  • Present key updates, trends and analysis to the HR and Leadership Team.

 

People Management

  •  Develop and mentor a HR team across many specialist areas and foster a culture of collaboration.  
  • Use innovative methods to consistently communicate strategy and operational goals.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountabilities linked to the overall site objectives.
  • Coach individuals or teams on a specific competency or subject matter.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments.

 

Support

  • Assist in development/implementation of HR policy and procedures.
  • Provide employee relations support, disciplinary action etc.
  • Support Compensation and Benefits activities. 

Requirements:

  •  Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • A minimum of six years of general Human Resources experience, with three years in a supervisory role.
  • Specific knowledge/ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interview / select employees at all levels. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise incisively and demonstrate teamwork capabilities.
  • Advantage to have certifications in: Belbin. TTI Insights, DISC, Gallup, other Psychometric tools.
  • Excellent IT /Communication skills including the use of social media, writing, proofing, and editing skills.
  • Comfortable with Data Analytics, Project Management, Advanced Excel, and Workday.
  • Ability to work well with Senior Leaders and answer questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience working on organisational transformation projects.
  •  Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under strict time constraints.
  • Hybrid working environment.
