Our client an Irish company that provides services in the care and disability sector are looking to hire a HR Manager based in Sligo. This role reports to the Group CEO with some flexibility for hybrid working 2 days per week. The Group employs in the region of 275 staff in a range of grades including social care workers, health care assistants, social workers, nurses and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish HR systems and processes to ensure compliance with employment legislation and ensure the best possible working environment for staff
  • To establish a staff retention plan and ensure focus on minimising staff turnover
  • To ensure best in class recruitment processes to include interview process, contract and offer stage and onboarding to the organisation
  • To manage the talent acquisition specialist employed by the service and support this role to achieve objectives
  • To work with the heads of service to devise a plan to develop management capability and progression pathways
  • To ensure that mandatory and other training are efficiently organised and delivered
  • To ensure employee feedback is gathered and provide routine reporting of metrics in relation to staff
  • To provide first line Industrial Relations services to managers and advise on the need for additional support as required
  • To be a member of the management team and assist in strategy planning and implementation 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a HR management role
  • Experience in the healthcare or social care sector (desirable)
  • 3rd level qualification in a HR or related discipline
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) is desirable
  • Ability to be proactive and independent and have strong follow up skills
  • Ability to balance the day-to-day requirements of the role with the strategic thinking required as part of the management team
