The Job:
We are currently working with an established Irish construction materials company based in Co. Monaghan is seeking to recruit an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. With over 65 years of industry experience, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality concrete products and providing efficient, reliable service to both the agricultural and construction sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs as directed by the Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair HGV fleet and trailers
- Carry out repairs on engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, and braking systems
- Respond to breakdowns as required
- Complete weekly and monthly inspection check sheets
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and servicing
- Adhere to servicing schedules
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Report non-conformances, equipment faults, and safety issues promptly
- Report accidents or incidents immediately
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality
- Meet daily work targets set by the Supervisor
- Minimise waste in materials, energy, and production processes
- Operate machinery and vehicles safely and responsibly
Requirements:
- Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to work independently and follow schedules
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
- Full, clean driver’s licence
- Manual Handling Certificate and Safe Pass
