We have an attractive opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join a progressive medical device manufacturer based in Shannon, Clare. This is a standalone role and will oversee and streamline the health and safety processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols in line with organisational permits and licensing requirements.
Actively liaise with local governance bodies and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Oversee and streamline incident reporting processes, with swift communication both internally and with relevant external bodies including the Health & Safety Authority and insurers.
Produce and deliver systematic compliance assessments.
Conduct regular audits, safety checks, and environmental assessments to uphold quality standards.
Facilitate and manage the logistics for training workshops as required.
Continuously evaluate and refine organisational safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
Provide support to the management team and encourage open dialogue between leadership and staff on all safety matters.
Maintain and organise comprehensive documentation and records with precision.
Requirements:
3-5 years experience in Health and Safety.
Demonstrated success in managing Health and Safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor will be considered favourably.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
In-depth knowledge of ISO standards.
Meticulous attention to detail and adept at creating reports.
The ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
