An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our client, a leading plastics manufacturing company based in West Limerick, on a permanent contract. This is a fully onsite position and will be based on a Mon-Fri week (8am - 5pm).

- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and current legislation.
- Provide expert Health & Safety guidance and promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
- Support management and employees in maintaining safe systems of work and best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Schedule and carry out regular safety audits, inspections, and workplace safety walks (Gemba walks).
- Deliver Health & Safety inductions, refresher training, and coordinate external safety training programmes, including Lifting Equipment Training, Fire Warden Training, Portable Fire Extinguisher Training, etc.
- Maintain accurate Health & Safety records, monitor safety equipment servicing, and manage incident reporting.
- Organise weekly Health & Safety Committee meetings, record minutes, and drive continuous safety improvements.
- 3-5+ years’ experience in Health and Safety, including any relevant qualifications.
- Ability to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of the business and staff, as well as the equipment and materials used.
- Ability to conduct hazard/incident investigations.
- Previous experience working in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Dynamic individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude, prepared to take responsibility, be flexible, motivated and drive results.
- Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including excel, powerpoint, word.
