Are you an experienced Senior HR Professional who is looking to take the next step in your career, into a Head of People and Culture position and join a very exciting new start-up operation here?

 

I am delighted to exclusively partner and bring to the market a new senior appointment opportunity. Our client is a leading global insurance and financial services provider and expanding operations into Ireland. 

 

Recruiting now has started for the Head of People and Culture to help them establish the HR operations function locally and to drive their vision as an Employer of Choice. This new role will be based in the Dublin 18 headquarters. The organisation have very ambitious plans to grow their operation here in Ireland to 400 plus employees over the next 3 years.


The successful candidate will be someone who is a self-starter, who is happy to move into a hands-on role during the initial ramp-up and growth phase and someone who will thrive on new challenges and experience a start-up culture!


The ideal candidate will have at least ten years’ experience in Human Resources in similar senior roles, with well-rounded expertise that includes professional development, recruitment, facilitation/training, remuneration and other initiatives to lead to a positive culture, as well as understanding HR operations and compliance. 


Reporting directly to the CEO (Chief Executive Officer), the Head of People and Culture will work with senior leadership team to:

  • Work closely with the Executive and Senior leadership team to develop strategy and programs that deliver high quality outcomes in People and Culture
  • Build a world class employer brand that makes us the “Employer of Choice.”
  • Oversee and assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Lead the training and capability uplift of our business through the development and delivery of content in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Develop Contract of Employment ,policies and procedures ensuring all departmental people-related policies are appropriate (and meet legislative requirements), up to date, and are followed by all staff.
  • Working with key stakeholders, including the Executive and Senior leadership team, to build a robust workplace that values diversity, treats all individuals with respect and encourages constructive feedback.
  • Lead the production of learning and development strategy, culture, policy, frameworks, standards, and guidelines. 
  • Take the lead on HR administration, policies, and compliance, ensuring the consistent application of process when handling disciplinary action, grievance, or performance management issues
  • Help build a culture that is the envy of other businesses, no matter what industry they are in.
  • Work with Senior Executives to ensure our employees are engaged, well communicated with, and heard.
  • Help build a robust business, where our people are encouraged to speak up. And where they are not only heard, but see their collective thoughts turned into action. 
  • Mentor and support managers to become better leaders in a high-performance culture where we really care about our employees.

Head of People and Culture requirements:

  • Third level Human Resources related qualification.
  • 10 years HR experience with experience in Irish Employment Law.
  • HR management role within financial services or call center environment.
  • Satisfies “Fit and Proper Person” Compliance.
  • Happy to be hands on during the start-up phase.
  • Experience in a start-up company is an advantage.
