We are working with an established SME in the Kerry region that is looking to hire for the position of Head of Operations. This is a wide remit role and the successful Head of Operations candidate will oversee the functions of IT, Warehousing, and Client Support Services. This is a full-time, permanent contract that is based in Killorglin Co. Kerry.
About the role
The Head of Operations will sit on the senior leadership team and will have excellent commercial and business acumen in order to contribute to the progression and success of the organisation. They will have a number of direct reports that stem into each area of the business that the Head of Operations will oversee (IT, Warehouse, Client Services). Due to the nature of this role, a technical background or general knowledge of IT functions is essential for the role as the ideal candidate will be both commercially and technically compotent.
Key Responsibilities
Overall management of the IT, Warehouse and Client Services teams
Responsible for maintaining high-performance levels across these areas by continuously reviewing processes and implementing improvements where necessary
Liaise with direct reports to ensure the smooth running of each department and that there is adherence to customer expectations and project delivery schedules.
People management of all teams to include activities such as recruitment and retention, performance appraisals, training, mentoring, etc
Responsible for delivering on key business projects to support the delivery of the organisations business strategy
Responsible for working with the IT department on improvement projects in order to develop and implement future IT infrastructure
Any other operational-related duties that may be required
Key Candidate Requirements
Hold a relevant business qualification
Comes from a technical background and expereince in operations, IT and warehouse management
ERP system experience essential, SAP Business One is an advantage.
Strong people management and leadership skills
Strong customer focus with a commercial acumen
Experience working with lean methodologies or having a lean-related qualification is desirable but not essential
