Job Title: Graduate Engineer
Location: Co. Westmeath (Midlands)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our client, a well-established building contractor.

Our client delivers high-quality construction projects across the Midlands. They are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer to support their project team in the successful delivery of a major construction project.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience across site operations, including setting out, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation while working alongside experienced site professionals.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist with site setting out using surveying equipment and engineering drawings.
• Support site supervision to ensure works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Manage document control, including drawings, revisions, and technical records.
• Assist with quality inspections and ensure compliance with company and project requirements.
• Support daily site coordination, progress tracking, and reporting.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination, inductions, and supervision of works.
• Support health and safety compliance through site inspections and reporting.
• Assist with material tracking, site logistics, and project documentation.
• Liaise with engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and project managers to support smooth project delivery.
• Gain exposure to project planning, scheduling, and preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.

Main Requirements:

• Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in construction site operations and engineering projects.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and engineering principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
• Full driving licence (preferred).
