General Manager required for one of Galway leading venues.

The General Manager will direct, control and manage the operation, to give strategic guidance and direction to the Board and to ensure that the Company achieves its goals and objectives.      


  • Compile weekly rosters, ensuring there is an appropriate level of trained staff on duty in line with budgets
  • People Management and staff engagement
  • Ensure the suitably trained cover is available while on annual leave / off duty to ensure continuity of service standards
  • Discipline staff when necessary using appropriate techniques, Liaising with HR before acting
  • Working with HR to support the recruitment and retention of staff
  • Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance Operations Management
  • Maintain and exceed GPs as set out in the budget
  • Cash control and reconciliation
  • Manage the reports of the business e.g. Sales V Labour report
  • Represent the Company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the Company
  •  Manage the service at all times during opening hours Customer and Operations / Kitchen
  • Oversee waste management
  • Manage the bookings for entertainment, staying within budget
  • Ensure appropriate music at different times of day, correct levels on volume, lighting, and heat
  • Maximise all potential business development opportunities
  • Deliver on sales budgets, GPs, wage percentage
  • Generating ideas for drinks menus and liaising with different drink suppliers on promotions
  • Working with the Sales and Marketing team to maximise all potential business. Achieve sales and profit targets
  • Provide and sign off on training for all food and beverage staff, food and beverage training plans, work schedules, and SOPs
  • Oversee the security, CCTV, and risk to the business
  • Establish a positive, healthy, and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations


  •  3-4 years’ experience in a senior F&B management role in a high-volume late bar/nightclub and bar food environment
  •  Proven industry knowledge for whiskeys, cocktails, gin and the general beverage offering in the domestic and local market
  •  Proven experience training a team
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  •  Fluent English verbal and written
