Food Production Lead

Our Client, an organic food production company are seeking a PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD, to join their growing team and help lead their production operations as we expand.


Production Lead Role

As the Production Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our production process. This includes supervising the production team, ensuring efficient and timely operations, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You’ll play a critical role in managing certifications and compliance processes to ensure we meet regulatory standards and stay aligned with our organic and ethical principles.

You’ll be stepping into a leadership role, guiding our team while working closely with senior management to improve processes, introduce new products, and help our business grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing of bean-to-bar cacao and chocolate products

  • Manage and train production staff, ensuring team productivity and adherence to quality standards

  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards

  • Manage all certifications and compliance processes, including organic certification, HACCP, and other food safety and quality management systems

  • Collaborate with senior management to optimise production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure inventory levels are maintained

  • Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of production equipment and facilities

  • Ensure accurate production records and reporting are maintained

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a food production or manufacturing management role, preferably in the food or beverage industry

  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance processes, including experience with HACCP and food safety certifications

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a calm and focused environment

  • Fluent in written and verbal English

  • HACCP Level 2 and manual handling training are preferred
