Financial Controller Hybrid

Our client is looking for an experienced accountant to join and lead their finance team as Financial Controller. They are a growing multinational manufacturing based in County Offaly. It is a permanent, hybrid role.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a vital role in the accurate and timely reporting of financial accounts, with a focus on month-end reporting. a focus on month-end reporting. They will be managing a well established finance team and will partnering with senior management to drive the growth of this business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review GL entries and supporting files for month-end close.

  • Compile monthly management account packs.

  • Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate capture of COGS in manufacturing for Gross Margin analysis.

  • Prepare VAT returns.

  • Quarterly analysis of key trends and results for senior management.

  • Handle monthly and quarterly reporting activities, including liquidity and financing.

  • Manage cost, budgeting, and variance analysis with commentary on key drivers.

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual regulatory returns.

  • Support the cash management process and prepare rolling cash flow statements.

  • Assist in the preparation of audit files.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Must have experience in a similar senior accountant/financial controller or manager role.

  • Experience in a manufacturing business is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Proficiency in month-end closing, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and management report production.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Agile and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Exceptional deadline awareness and time management skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
