A well-established and reputable organisation is looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller to join their senior management team. The role is based in Roscommon.
This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for the overall finance function, while also providing financial and commercial support to senior management and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall financial management and reporting function.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
- Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare and submit bi-monthly VAT returns.
- Ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing.
- Lead and develop a finance team.
- Strengthen financial controls, accounting processes and internal procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency.
- Provide financial insight and commercial support to senior management.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of current accounting standards.
- Proven team management and leadership experience.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and financial controls.
