Our client, an exciting technology company based in Sligo requires a Financial Accountant to join their expanding team.  This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant with hands-on payroll experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company accounts including payroll
  • Monthly processing of staff payroll including expenses, BIK and other necessary adjustments
  • Responsible for processing monthly deductions such as pension payments and health insurance
  • Ensure all external filing deadlines are met with 3rd parties including revenue
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis of results and commentary
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial plans for the company
  • Manage the Fixed Assets Register
  • Prepare R&D Grant Applications

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA)
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Financial Accounting role ideally in a multinational environment
  • 3 years computerised Payroll experience
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience of Oracle Software and Sage payroll an advantage
  • Understanding of and adherence to data privacy standards
  • Knowledge of Tax legislation
