Finance Automation and Analytics Consultant

Our client in Cavan is seeking a Finance Transformation (Automation and Analytics) Consultant for a newly created role on a one year contract basis.

Role Purpose: 

The role focuses on leveraging automation technologies, data analytics, and process optimisation to drive Finance transformation within the organisation. The consultant works closely with the client's Finance team, understanding their operations and processes, and designing automation solutions, data analytics frameworks, and reporting systems. The role also encompasses change management and incorporates elements of business process reengineering to ensure a successful transformation. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and develop strategies for Finance Transformation, with a specific focus on automation and analytics. 
  • Work closely with the client's Finance team to gain a comprehensive understanding of their operations, processes and data infrastructure. 
  • Design and implement automation solutions to streamline and optimise Finance processes, utilising the latest technology and tools. 
  • Develop data analytics frameworks and implement advanced analytics techniques to derive actionable insights from financial data. 
  • Design and create dashboards and reporting systems to provide stakeholders with timely and accurate financial information. 
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing Finance processes, identifying opportunities for automation and process optimisation. 
  • Lead change management efforts by effectively communicating the benefits of Finance transformation and guiding stakeholders through the process. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and executive leadership, to ensure alignment of Finance transformation initiatives with broader organisational objectives. 
  • Provide guidance and support to the Finance team, enabling them to effectively utilise automation and analytics tools for data-driven decision making. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Finance transformation initiatives, continuously seeking opportunities for refinement and improvement. 

Requirements:

  • Consulting experience: preferably in a Finance Transformation or related role. Demonstrated success in delivering Finance Transformation projects and working with diverse clients. 
  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong understanding of Finance principles, accounting practices and financial management processes. One or many certifications in Alteryx, Power BI is a prerequisite. You must also be extremely proficient in Excel. 
  • Communications skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written). Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner and to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. 
  • Passion for Data and Analytics: Strong knowledge of data analytics tools, methodologies and best practices, with a focus on leveraging data to drive insights and improve decision making. 
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business operations and processes, particularly within the Finance function. Ability to empathise with client challenges and provide solutions that align with their strategic goals.
  • Analytical Thinker: Strong analytical problem solving skills. Attention to detail and a data-driven approach to decision making. 
  • Change Management Expertise: Experience in change management methodologies and practices, including the ability to manage stakeholders. 
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic consulting environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Client Focus: Strong client-centric mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships with clients.
