Our client, a prominent leader in heavy machinery solutions, is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Construction Plant Fitter to join their growing team in Galway. This is a permanent position.


As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of construction machinery, including forklift trucks, heavy-duty plant equipment, and agricultural machinery. Your mechanical and electrical expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and peak performance of our equipment across diverse work sites.


As a Field Service Engineer your main duties will be:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and servicing tasks on a variety of construction machinery, with a focus on forklift trucks, heavy-duty plant equipment, and agricultural machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, employing your technical proficiency to troubleshoot and rectify problems effectively.
  • Strive for excellence in customer service by promptly addressing client concerns and ensuring their equipment operates optimally.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance efficiency in parts procurement, ensuring required components are readily available.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and company standards while conducting on-site repairs and maintenance.
  • Embrace continuous learning through product and safety training, staying updated with the latest industry advancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and repair activities, contributing to streamlined documentation

The ideal Field Service Engineer would look like:

  • Proven experience in servicing and repairing construction machinery, including forklift trucks, heavy-duty plant equipment, or agricultural machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, enabling precise diagnosis and effective repairs.
  • Dedication to delivering top-notch customer service through clear communication and problem-solving.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to facilitate efficient repairs.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of thriving both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to diverse work sites across the Galway region.
  • Commitment to safety as a priority in all tasks and responsibilities
