Due to the continued growth of the company, MWP is looking for an Environmental/Ecology Sector Lead to join their growing environmental and ecology team on a wide range of energy and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Environmental Scientists and Ecologists. This role allows for flexible working arrangements.
Overview of Main Responsibilities:
Overall management of the operational and commercial performance of the team.
Managing the interaction between project team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Experience or interest in renewable energy, marine, and infrastructure projects would assist in approaching projects.
Working in partnership with other members of the environmental team, managing resources, delegating activities, and monitoring project budgets.
Experience in working with large teams in a range of diverse projects, preferably in the consultancy sector.
Interaction with project managers in other sectors or disciplines within the company and the ability to identify, manage and deal with project risk and develop solutions where required.
Client management and business development.
Experience of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), and Appropriate Assessment (AA).
Skills / Qualifications Required:
Degree in Ecology/Engineering/ Environmental or Science equivalent. MSc preferable.
Previous experience managing and coaching teams is essential.
Membership of a professional body desired, CIEEM or other appropriate body.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent planning and organisation skills.
Strong commercial awareness.
Full driver’s licence.
At least 10 years experience in the area of planning and environmental management/consultancy.
Excellent knowledge of Irish environmental and planning legislation, policy, and practice
Project management skills.
Clear and confident communication skills.
