Due to the continued growth of MWP, we are seeking Environmental Scientists to join their growing environmental team on a wide range of energy/infrastructure environmental projects. The Environmental Scientists will have experience in planning, climate change, energy transition, and delivery of essential projects for the protection of our environment. Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Preparation of screening, scoping and EIAR reports
  • Preparation of EIA chapters and assessments
  • Specialist assessments in topic areas of noise, air quality, geology, hydrology or other areas in which you have specialist knowledge or experience.
  • Willingness to assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals
  • Working in a team focussed on the delivery of EIAR for a range of projects
  • Preparing reports and environmental assessments that support planning consent or licence applications required for projects
  • Environmental due diligence assessments
  • Completion of desk studies and fieldwork or baseline surveys to support EIAR chapters and assessments
  • Preparation of statutory consent documentation

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience, most of which will have been gained within an environmental consultancy area
  • Experience or interest in renewable energy, marine and infrastructure projects
  • Environmental scientist with a focus on areas such as hydrology/water, Noise, geology or other earth sciences focus is of interest in developing our knowledge base.
  • Membership of a professional body preferable
  • Knowledge of and experience in a particular specialist are (contaminated land/noise/air/geology/hydrology) would be an advantage
  • Ability to work well in teams, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience in some or all of the following areas:
    • Data collection & interpretation
    • Public and statutory consultation
    • EIAR preparation
    • Waste Management studies
