Engineering Manager- Cavan

Our client, a leading healthcare company, is keen to hire an Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Cavan on a permanent basis.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing complex projects in a highly regulated, quality-controlled food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities (Full job description available on request):

  • Models processes and unit operations in a highly automated process environment.
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives in a highly automated process environment and ensuring all new equipment is validated as per QA procedures.
  • Calculates and organizes all data for complex process flow sheets including instrumentation and control considerations.
  • Services, troubleshoots, and solves engineering problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
  • Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (e.g., quality, production, safety, engineering, drafting, technical) to secure specialized resources and contributions for solving production and engineering problems.
  • Participates in selecting and managing the activities of contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. 

Ideal background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Process Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Engineering.
  • Prior experience in a Dairy/Food Process Engineering role is essential.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Spray drying operations and/or Evaporation.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Thermal processing of Dairy based products.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Powder conveying systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert in ATEX rated environments and their constraints.
  • Knowledge of an Automated Manufacturing Environment with a good solid understanding of food processing equipment is essential.
