Engineering Manager
A great opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical Engineering Manager on a 15 month contract to provide Asset Care Engineering support for a large Pharma site in the South East.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead day to day maintenance activities within the department
- Provide effective motivational and supervisory direction for team leaders, engineers and technicians
- Manage the technician team leaders, planner and scheduler, reliability specialist and projects engineers through weekly/monthly meetings, annual appraisals
- Deliver the annual goals and objectives for the department
- Ensure technician development is maintained within each value stream
- Ensure all activities are carried out according to best EHS and GMP practices
- Lead the delivery of the day to day asset care activities
- Provide Engineering support and direction to the Value Streams
- Support the delivery of technical training & development plans
- Ensure all activities are carried out according to best EHS and GMP practices
- Deliver all department Metrics (Service, EHS, Quality, Value)
- Sponsor the roll out of correct maintenance strategies for plant assets
- Liaise with OEMs for problem support and improvements
- Actively Sponsor Equipment Reliability / Continuous Improvement projects
- Ensure standard approaches & best practices are being maintained
- Manage and deliver and of department R+M spend
- Coach maintenance team to be accountable for reduction of Failure Rate and ensuring consistant asset care
- Support and actively get involved in New Product / Equipment introduction
Candidate Requirements
· Third level qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
· 5 years + experience within a Process environment specifically in the maintenance function.
· Previous experience of people management in a similar role
· Previous experience and understanding of project frameworks and execution.
