Engineering Manager

 

A great opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical Engineering Manager on a 15 month contract to provide Asset Care Engineering support for a large Pharma site in the South East.

 

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead day to day maintenance activities within the department
  • Provide effective motivational and supervisory direction for team leaders, engineers and technicians
  • Manage the technician team leaders, planner and scheduler, reliability specialist and projects engineers through weekly/monthly meetings, annual appraisals
  • Deliver the annual goals and objectives for the  department 
  • Ensure technician development is maintained within each value stream
  • Ensure all activities are carried out according to best EHS and GMP practices
  • Lead the delivery of the day to day asset care activities
  • Provide Engineering support and direction to the Value Streams
  • Support the delivery of technical training & development plans
  • Ensure all activities are carried out according to best EHS and GMP practices
  • Deliver all department Metrics (Service, EHS, Quality, Value)
  • Sponsor the roll out of correct maintenance strategies for plant assets
  • Liaise with OEMs for problem support and improvements
  • Actively Sponsor Equipment Reliability / Continuous Improvement projects
  • Ensure standard approaches & best practices are being maintained
  • Manage and deliver and of department R+M spend
  • Coach maintenance team to be accountable for reduction of Failure Rate and ensuring consistant asset care
  • Support and actively get involved in New Product / Equipment introduction

 

Candidate Requirements

·        Third level qualification in Engineering or equivalent.

·        5 years + experience within a Process environment specifically in the maintenance function.

·        Previous experience of people management in a similar role

·        Previous experience and understanding of project frameworks and execution.
