About the Role:

We are partnering with a leading company in the food processing industry to find an experienced Engineering Manager for their facility in Co. Sligo. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished engineer seeking a senior role or a new challenge in a dynamic environment. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and facilities. You will report directly to the Factory Manager and lead a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Manager you will:

  • Lead and develop the engineering team and contractors.
  • Support production teams by ensuring well-maintained equipment and systems.
  • Manage safety and compliance for refrigeration, ammonia, and Legionella.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programmes in line with company standards.
  • Control engineering costs and collaborate with the finance department.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, aiming for zero accidents.
  • Drive improvement initiatives and support the plant in achieving BRC AA accreditations and safety audits.
  • Oversee both reactive and preventive maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Trade professional experience (electrician or fitter) or a third-level qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organisational, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of lean and process improvement methodologies.
