We have an opening for an Engineering Lead Supplier Developmentwith a Leading Global Medical Device company based in Athlone. For this position we are seeking someone with a manufacturing engineering background. In this position you will lead a dedicated team of Supplier Development Engineers across working collaboratively to achieve continuous improvement objectives with our suppliers. This role focuses on enhancing quality performance, reducing inspection levels, achieving cost efficiencies, and strengthening the Supplier/Customer partnership. Your support will extend to both internal customers and external suppliers, ensuring effective resolution of supplier quality issues, technical support for quality system assessments, and supplier risk mitigation for specific suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Establish and oversee the Supplier Development Engineering process on a global scale, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.
Foster collaboration with the Global Procurement team, actively participating in supplier business reviews and cultivating strong supplier relationships.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of supplier development data while effectively communicating project activities and progress.
Offer continuous support to the Global Procurement team in the execution of Supplier Development projects aligned with strategic objectives.
Drive the successful execution of projects to meet the organization's GSQ (Global Supplier Quality) strategic initiatives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Supplier Development activities, while developing a structured reporting framework for key stakeholders to track progress and address issues.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Quality departments to assess and resolve material and product quality issues with assigned suppliers.
Supervise and manage a team of Supplier Development Engineers, including objective setting, performance reviews, and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
Provide assistance and support to other departments as requested by your immediate manager.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of proven experience working within a manufacturing engineering environment.
Bachelor's Degree preferably in a scientific, engineering, or technical field, or equivalent experience.
Experience in supplier quality and engineering.
Problem-Solving: Ability to assess problem situations, identify root causes, gather and process relevant information, generate innovative solutions, and make recommendations or resolve problems effectively.
Regulatory Knowledge: Good working knowledge of FMEA, Validation Programs, and SPC processes in a highly regulated environment.
Team Player: Strong team player with effective communication and listening skills.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
Influence: Proven ability to positively influence others to achieve results that align with the organization's best interests.
