We have an exciting Embedded Software Engineer role within a fast paced and high-impact R&D Department with our client, a leading indigenous electronics company based in Shannon. With over 30 years of success driven by a culture of Quality, Service, and Product Innovation, our client is at the forefront of emerging Cloud-based and IoT developments. This is a full-time, permanent position and is based fully on-site in Shannon.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design & Development: Contribute to the design and development of new alarm and IoT sensor products, including RF modules for connectivity.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Electronic Hardware, Mechanical, RF, and other engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Validation & Approvals: Participate in in-house validation and external approvals processes (e.g., RED testing) to ensure product compliance.
Manufacturing Transition: Collaborate with NPI teams to transition new products and features into high-volume manufacturing.
Key Requirements:
BSc in Electronic Engineering, computer science, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience developing embedded solutions.
Proficiency in Modular C on micro-controllers such as Microchip PIC, STM32.
Experience with compilers like IAR, XC8, and RF protocol development (proprietary, BLE, LoRa, Sigfox, etc.).
Familiarity with SCM tools like Git and a strong commitment to code quality.
Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
Experience with automated QA tools (e.g., LDRA) and low-power design for battery-powered products. (advantageous)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Runners. (advantageous)
