Job Description- Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Location- Cavan (office based)

An established electrical contractor operating across Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This role involves managing the commercial aspects of electrical projects from tender stage through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while maximising commercial performance. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial delivery of projects from tender stage through to final accounts.
  • Prepare budgets, BOQs, cost reports, profit plans, and interim valuations.
  • Administer subcontractor accounts, payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Attend and manage commercial meetings with clients and internal project teams.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, site changes, and dayworks.
  • Identify and report commercial risks and support mitigation measures.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with planning and project management teams to ensure accurate progress reporting.
  • Negotiate commercial matters with clients and subcontractors where required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ Quantity Surveying experience on electrical projects. Open to Electricians looking to get into Quantity Surveying. 
  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
  • Technical background in Electrical Engineering or as a qualified Electrician is advantageous.
  • Experience working on electrical projects valued above €2 million.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of contract conditions and subcontractor management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Process-driven with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance
